Wet Rooms

A wet room is a fully sealed area which allows water to escape only through a drain fixed at the lowest point, creating a clean, elegant and seamless space.

Wet rooms and wet shower areas are becoming more and more popular in the UK. Wet room waterproofing or "tanking" fully seals the wet room area prior to tiling, containing any water that does find its way between the tiles and allowing it to drain down towards the wet room floor drain. Wet rooms are often thought of as shower and bathroom areas, but many kitchens or toilet areas can also be treated in the same way.

Preparation is the key to a secure wet room and should be undertaken by specialist installers. This kind of area can be installed either on a solid floor or a suspended timber floor.
